“Concentration is the ability to think about absolutely nothing when it is absolutely necessary.” Ray Knight

The most important gift you can give yourself is a clear mind…

In order to perform well, stay on single track, stay upright in washing surf, you need to focus and concentrate. You can’t do this if your mind is cluttered.

Mind clutter makes concentration difficult and your little inner voice is so powerful it can “talk” to you at about 400 words per minute. Problem is you can only comprehend around 180 words per minute. Clear the static, get tuned in to the right frequency, and you’ll hear what you need to hear from your powerful inner voice.

Try this exercise next time you sit down for a meal. For the duration of your meal try and think of or focus on nothing other than the meal itself. Think of the tastes, textures, the room, the table setting, try and notice as much detail. Two things will happen – you’ll eat slower (that will allow you to better manage your weight)and you’ll enjoy and appreciate your meal so much more than usual.
